World War 1 Week

In school this week we celebrated the centenary of the end of World War 1. We spoke about the importance of rememberance and decorated our own poppies. In Year 2 we wrote descriptions of a soldier and learnt a poem 'A Call from the Nation' which we performed in our end of week assembly. The children were lucky enough to have a visit from a real soldier and see some of his equipment. We also had a World War 1 plane on the playground which we all got the chance to sit in.
