Magic Show feedback – it was agreed the show was successful and children appeared to enjoy. Tickets sold 158. Kitchen sold out of almost all hot food & tuck shop taking were good. It was agreed to look at doing another show in a couple of years.

Easter Week – request sent in last weeks newsletter Easter Egg donations. These will be used for Tombola/Raffle prizes.

KS1 will all take part in Easter Egg Tombola, which will allow all KS1 children to win a prize. Tombola will take place in the hall until 10:30am, as agreed with Mr Dumbell.

KS2 – will take part in a raffle, with 3 hamper prizes per class, as per previous years. BS will organise tickets and Mr Dumbell will do the draw during Friday assembly, as agreed

Staff Easter Egg raffle will also go ahead as normal.

Children will be asked to donate chocolate easter eggs (week 12-16 March) in exchange for MUFTI Day on 23rd March.

All tickets will be 50p

BD will speak to employers Sainsburys with regards to Easter Egg donations

12-16 March 23/3/18

Spring Disco – there will be no Sport Relief disco this year. However, we will be holding a Spring Disco, all profits will go towards the fundraising for new Tablets. Disco agreed with school for Friday 27th April.

KM will discuss timings with school

BS will put request up in staff room for teachers to stay on the evening to assist and also a request for lockup.

Tuck shop bags will need to be made in advance for Years R,1,2&3 – Volunteers needed.

DJ Andy has been booked by KM

ICT – Tablet Fundraising – Mr Hefferan (ICT Network Manager) has requested 30 new tablets for the children across the whole school to utilise. The cost quoted is £4135 – therefore the PTA has agreed to fund this, and all funds raised this academic year will go towards the purchase of these.

“Going for Gold” – LT has written a proposal, which has been sent by KM to Mr Dumbell for consideration. The proposal is a partnership with a local jeweller, who has already agreed to weigh in any unwanted gold and give the PTA the cash. Unwanted gold such as odd ear-rings, broken necklace chains etc. LT/KM

Website & Noticeboards – VR has worked very hard updating the PTA section on the new Norwood Primary School webpage. Events, news and minutes from meetings will be available on the PTA section. The main school calendar will hopefully also contain PTA event dates.

The PTA has acquired a 2nd noticeboard, located under the shelter in the main playground. VR has done a great job of designing these boards and providing current information on news and events on both the boards. If everyone could please take a look at both boards.

Suggestion made around developing a PTA Facebook page. Idea to be discussed by committee with school

Everyone to read and promote please

Summer fair – date agreed with school Friday 29th June.

Request for ideas to be forwarded to PTA committee.

Database of previous requests for raffle donations to be compiled for discussion.

AOB:  BS mentioned that a Barn Dance was held in the school hall a few years ago. KM will look at PTA files to find more info as this may be a good & fun fundraiser to possibly be held in July.

Next meeting – 9th April 2018
