New to Reception - September 2023

We are delighted to welcome you as a parent to Norwood Primary School and congratulations on your child being given a place for September as we have been oversubscribed this year.

Over the next few weeks you will receive lots of information in preparation for the September start. Please read everything carefully and look at any key dates as we want to give your child the best start to their time at Norwood.

  • Monday 17th April                National Primary Admissions Day
  • Wednesday 7th June             New to Reception Parents Information Meeting   6.30pm    (Lots of information will be made available and opportunity to meet staff and book dates to visit school)
  • Tuesday 4th July                   Pre-school taster day   3.00pm - 4.00pm
  • Wednesday 5th July              Pre-school taster day   3.00pm - 4.00pm
  • Wednesday 6th September   Parents and child visits
  • Thursday 7th September      Parents and child visits
  • Friday 8th September           Parents and child visits
  • Monday 11th September      Reception children start part-time ( mornings or afternoons)
  • Monday 18th September      Reception children start full -time 

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I buy a school book bag and water bottle?

A: From the school office. Bookbags are £6 and water bottles are £2. Cash only please.

 

Q: Where can I buy school sweatshirts and cardigans?

A: We stock a small supply of logo sweatshirts (starting from £8). Logo sweatshirts and cardigans can be bought from Whittakers on the corner of Hoghton St and London St or from Zips and Snips on Eastbank St. Plain navy sweatshirts and cardigans can be bought from most supermarkets.

 

Q: How can I arrange a place for Breakfast or After School Club?

A: Contact Emma Taylor from Frantastic ASC on 07593 511483.

 

Q: How do I find out what school meals are available?

A: The menu for September 2023 will be given to you when the children start part-time in September. Our current menu is on the Parents  section of the website - Dinner Menu.

 

Q: How can I get involved with school life?

A: Friends of Norwood (FON) arranges lots of fun events for the children and families over the school year inclduing discos, the Christmas and Summer Fairs. As a parent of a child at Norwood, you automatically are a member of FON.
