PE and Sport Premium

The PE and Sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and Sport activities they offer their pupils. Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and Sport they offer.

This means that we should use the premium to:

  • develop or add to the PE and Sport activities that our school already offers
  • make improvements now that will benefit pupils joining the school in future years

Our objectives for the PE and Sports Grant are to:

  • Broaden the sporting opportunities and experiences open to children.

  • Develop a love of sport and physical activity.

  • Improve provision of PE at Norwood Primary School.

  • Improve and educate in the area of healthy and physical well-being.

  • Improve and develop CPD opportunities to allow staff to develop and benefit the children of Norwood.

PE and Sport plays an important part in the physical health and mental well being of children in our school and we are proud of the wide range of opportunities we offer our pupils during their Norwood journey.

We are delighted to have achieved the Sainsbury's School Games Platinum Mark - the highest award - for our continued commitment to the development of competition across the school and the local community.

As well as a spirit of competition, we encourage a culture of participation too in Norwood and we are proud to embrace the School Games Values - Passions, Self-Belief, Respect, Honesty, Determination and Teamwork.
