P.E Lessons

Children are required to come to school in their full P.E kits on Wednesday and Thursday for our P.E lessons. This will be games on the Wednesday and gym/dance on the Thursday. Our P.E kit consists of a white t-shirt, blue shorts, joggers or leggings and trainers and pumps (trainers for outdoor P.E.) Preferably, children will have a pair of trainers in school to change into when running our daily mile.

Homework

For the Autumn term, your child will be given phonics flashcards to practise at home. It is important that this is done regularly throughout the week as this will help your child make progress with their reading and spelling. In addition, children should be given the opportunity to have a go on the White Rose One Minute Maths App or the online Numbots game for 3 minutes, 5 times a week. This will improve their number fact knowledge. Please ask your class teacher about this if you have any questions.

Spellings will be set each Wednesday and tested the following Wednesday. These spellings will incorporate phonic sounds and tricky words each week.

We recommend that you should read with your child every day and date and sign your child’s reading record at least three times a week. Each group will be given a day where their books will go home and be returned to school. This will be written on the front of your child’s reading record and book folder. Below are ‘Reading at Home' documents to enhance the reading experience of one book.

From January, your child will be expected to complete a Fast Learning activity for Geography every week.
