At the end of Year 6, pupils complete statutory national assessments called Standard Assessment Tests (SATs). These assessments check how well children have learned the national curriculum. Each test is marked to give a raw score, which is simply the number of marks your child gets. This raw score is then converted into a scaled score. Scaled scores are used so results can be compared fairly from year to year, even if a test is slightly harder or easier than in previous years. A scaled score of 100 means your child has met the expected national standard. Parents will be told their child’s raw score, scaled score, and whether their child has met the expected national standard in each subject.

the average scaled scores for reading and mathematics
