Screens and Digital Technology

Screens and digital technology are a part of everyday life for most families, and they can offer children lots of opportunities to learn, explore and enjoy themselves. For young children, however, it is important that screen time sits alongside the things that help them develop best — talking and playing with others, being active, exploring the world around them, sharing stories and getting enough sleep.

At Norwood Primary School, we want to work alongside parents and carers to help children develop healthy habits with technology from an early age. The guidance below brings together helpful research and practical suggestions for families, with the aim of supporting a balanced approach to screen time that works for young children and family life.
